Chandler Spanish AcademyOf Chandler’s total population of 241,064, twenty-three percent are Hispanic/Latino, according to U.S. Census data. Approximately half of Chandler’s Hispanic population speaks Spanish regularly at home. Chandler is a city that enjoys festivals, and many of these celebrations have a significant Hispanic cultural component. The city sponsors numerous activities during Hispanic Heritage Month, including a Hispanic book fair, an educational forum, and the Miss Mariachi Pageant. The Celebration of Unity and Multicultural Festival occur in conjunction in the month of January in order to highlight diverse local cultures such as Latino culture and promote intercultural tolerance. Finally, the Cinco De Mayo celebration includes Mexican food, dance, and the infamous Chihuahua Races and crowning of the King and Queen Chihuahua. Clearly, the Chandler community is dedicated to providing family friendly entertainment with an important educational element. Chandler’s population is continually changing to reflect an influx of Spanish speakers. There’s no better time than the present to introduce your family to the joys of learning a second language.
